A Little Information About Your Library Staff:

Mrs. Duris 

I am in my fourth year as a library media specialist but my 21st year of teaching- I can't believe it! (I was a health teacher for 16 years.) I am passionate about learning, the outdoors, and being as healthy as possible. I tend to have a "glass is half full" outlook, always trying to find the positive in the most challenging situations. I also love to travel, spend time with friends and family (and my cats and dog!), and eat delicious food. I am an avid hiker, bike, and Nordic skier,  and I also teach cycling and yoga classes. You may also find me at the Gypsy Cafe, a restaurant my husband runs as the chef/owner. Finally, I love helping and engaging my students in any way I can! 

Mrs. Sabourn

My name is Melissa Sabourn.  I have been the  Library Assistant here at Lin-Wood for the past 8 years.   My husband and I both graduated from Lin-Wood and chose to raise our children in the same community that we grew up in. I have two daughters, Jordan is a Sophomore in College and Meredith is a Senior here at Lin-Wood.  I am co-advisor for the Class of 2025 and for LW FBLA.  Yes, I am very busy!

Although my background is not in education, I have found that I truly enjoy being here at Lin-Wood and working with the kids of all ages.  I am also super excited about the reorganization project that we have completed in the Elementary Library!  I love helping kids find books they are excited about!
