The following pedagogical strategies inspire my classroom instruction.
CHEMISTRY MODELING
In eachinstructional unit, students are challenged to observe a phenomena, discover patterns in their observations, and generate particle models to describe how matter behaves.
GUIDED INQUIRY
A student-centered, group-learning instructional approach, in which students work in small teams with the instructor acting as a facilitator. This strategy enables students to develop higher-level thinking and the ability to learn and apply knowledge in new contexts.
FLIPPED CLASSROOM
The first exposure to new material occurs individually outside of class, often through reading or videos. During class, students then practice the more challenging skills of applying key concepts and problem-solving in an interactive learning environment.
MASTERY LEARNING
Grades reflect the degree to which students have accomplished the learning goals set at the start of each unit. Opportunities are provided for students to practice and learn from their mistakes in order to improve their level of mastery.
