What To Wear
Women are advised to wear loose-fitting clothing that covers their shoulders and knees, such as long skirts or pants, and avoid low-cut tops. Men should also wear clothing that covers their shoulders and knees, such as long pants and shirts.
Shoes: Make sure you bring your comfortable shoes! Given the Nepali and Tibetan custom of removing your shoes before you enter a room, shoes that go on and come off easily are advisable.
Weather: Temperatures in Kathmandu in October are between 49–72ºF (9–22 ºC). There might be considerable differences in temperature during the day and at night so please wear layers.
Food and Drinks
Siddhartha Hotel: The retreat venue has a restaurant. Lunch is included when you register for the retreat.
Local Cuisine: Try local dishes like Tibetan momo (dumplings), Nepali dal bhat (lentils and rice), and Newari cuisine. Street food can be delicious, but choose vendors with good hygiene practices.
Hydration: Carry a reusable water bottle and consider using water purification tablets. Hydration is crucial, especially at higher altitudes.
