Dear Parents, Students and Caregivers,
What a beautiful end to our 2024 school year. If you were not able to attend our graduation ceremony on Wednesday you can see some photos here. It was a wonderful moment to celebrate scholarship, and to send our graduates off to their next adventures. Of course, the Grade 12 class also organised a fabulous banquet on Tuesday night for those same graduates, that also filled our hearts with love and affirmation. See banquet photos here.
Our awards ceremony yesterday (see below), homeroom parties, and the whole school assembly allowed us to wrap up a beautiful school year. Thank you for your ceaseless support.
While it may seem strange to send a newsletter after last day of school, I wanted to express my thanks to all of you. Of course, I salute my colleagues, the Lighthouse teachers and staff, who tirelessly gave of themselves this year. I also want to thank you, Lighthouse parents for your trust and confidence, yet alone the real teaching that you do each year in alignment with our Core Values. And to Lighthouse students, thank you for your efforts this year and for making Lighthouse shine.
While final grade reports have been sent separately to help “tie a bow” on our school year, I hope you will enjoy a few final announcements below and a chance to begin making your plans for 2025. Enjoy a beautiful summer vacation ahead.

Duke of Edinburgh Adventurous Journey Report
This last week, Bronze and Silver level participants of the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award completed their Adventurous Journey. These students have been working towards the Award for several months, participating in community service, physical recreation and skill development. The Adventurous Journey was their final challenge, involving a multi-day hiking expedition in Black River National Park. Well done to all for supporting one-another to the end! Key Dates for 2025
To help you look ahead to 2025, we wanted to make this calendar available to you so that you can now some of our major events, activities, camps, reports, etc. for the coming school year. While we always try to keep changes to a minimum, if ever we do need to update this calendar, we will let you know. Happy planning.
Supply List for 2025
Looking ahead to acquiring your school supplies for 2025? Please see our list here of what you may want to purchase ahead of the first day of school on January 14th.
Uniform Shop Hours before 2025 Academic Start
To prevent long queues at the start of year, we will be opening the shop on 4 and 5 December (08:00 - 14:00) and 8 and 13 January (08:00 - 14:00).
Starting 17:00 on Monday, 2 December you will be able to pre- book a 15 minute appointment for your child on Ed-Admin (similar to booking parent-teacher conferences), to try on uniforms and make sure you buy the correct size. The bookings are per child, to ensure sufficient time for bigger families. Please go to your child’s profile on the Ed-Admin portal. Look out for the notification via your WhatsApp groups, once the slots have been published to Ed-Admin.
If you have any problem scheduling your slot, or any questions regarding uniform, please email Ms Melanie at uniform@lighthouse.edu.mu.
Start of 2025 Health Reminders
Just a few health reminders as we start out this new school year!
If something has changed for your child health wise, please keep us up to date by submitting a new Student Health Form. Otherwise, we will assume all permissions and medical information remain unchanged.
No medications may be kept in student bags! If your child needs to take medication while at school, please fill out this Medication Authorization form and drop the form and medication at the HUB.
First Aid notifications to parents: We do not phone parents for minor first aid incidents at school. You will receive a call or note in the following circumstances:
A call if your child is sick needs to be sent home
A call if your child is injured and may require further medical attention.

A reminder that we have a few key documents to help guide you around school operations:
