Dear Lighthouse Primary School Parents,
As we come to the end of another disrupted week I want to thank all our parents for your assistance in making the most of the unfortunate circumstances and rainy days this year. We are very aware that there is some anxiety building around the amount of time lost already this year. Please rest assured that as a primary school, we remain cognisant of these interruptions and challenges and will continue to adapt and change to ensure that we do not fall behind academically.
We look forward to this weekend's National Day celebrations as well as the Maha Shivaratree holiday. Please travel safely if you are going to be on the roads and enjoy these days with your families and friends.
Saying goodbye to Ms Nditha
It is with sadness that I have to inform you that Miss Nditha (Gr 4) will be leaving Lighthouse in June 2024. Miss Nditha has been an exceptional teacher, dedicated to the education and well-being of our students.
While we are saddened by her departure, we also want to support her and wish her well as she furthers her career abroad. She will be taking up an education position in Indonesia. As a school, we are committed to securing a smooth transition for our students and will be actively seeking a replacement teacher who shares Miss Nditha’s dedication to education.
Traffic rules at drop-off & pick-up
Please make yourself aware again of our traffic requirements at drop-off and pick-up times as this will ensure a better service and experience for all. Below will be enforced from Wednesday, 13 March.
Lighthouse parking & traffic policies:
We kindly request that parents refrain from arriving before 14:45 for pick-up. Early arrivals hinder us from using our sports fields, as well as impacting smooth traffic flow for school visitors. Early arrivals also pose safety concerns as we cannot monitor campus access effectively. If all guidelines are followed, collection should not take more than 15 minutes.
Children may not be called out of class after 14:00 unless there is a pre-arranged doctor's appointment, communicated in advance with their teacher via email or through reception.
Drop-off before 07:30 is discouraged as supervision is not provided during this time. Please understand that the school cannot assume responsibility for any incidents that may occur before official supervision begins.
Please note, siblings will not be grouped together for pick-up arrangements. Instead, all children will gather at designated pick-up points. This measure ensures better supervision and enhances overall safety protocols.
Your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines is greatly appreciated as we strive to maintain a secure and organised environment for all students and visitors. Thank you for your understanding and support!
Daily drop off and pick-up traffic protocol to be followed by all parents
Late arrivals (after 8:00)- please take note of below
