Dear Parents and Caregivers,
A heartfelt thank you to everyone for making our Parent-Teacher Conferences such a successful and fruitful time! It was a joy to see children proudly showcasing their work to their parents, sharing their achievements, and discussing their growth. Your support and collaboration mean so much, and it's this shared commitment that truly strengthens our school community. Thank you all once again for making this event a meaningful experience for our students!
What a wonderful week we’ve had, filled with joy, energy, and the dedication each of you brings to Lighthouse! This week, we’ve been talking with students about how God uses life’s disruptions to help us grow and draw closer to Him. We shared the story of Noah, who was asked by God to build a boat in the face of unexpected challenges, reminding us that God has a purpose even in uncertain times.
As we approach the end of another academic year, change is on the horizon, and with it comes the bittersweet task of saying goodbye to some cherished staff members. At the end of this year, we will be bidding farewell to Mr. Josh, our dedicated Grade 6 teacher, and his family as they relocate to Zambia. Ms. Annecila, who has taught with us for nine wonderful years and has been a much-loved presence in Reception, will also be moving on. Additionally, Mr. Damien, our talented PE teacher, is embarking on an exciting new journey as he starts his own business.
It’s always hard to say goodbye to remarkable people, but we want to start by expressing our deep gratitude for their incredible work and lasting impact here at Lighthouse. They will always be part of our family!
Looking ahead, we are excited for our End-of-Year Christmas Picnic and hope to see as many of you there as possible as we come together to celebrate the wonderful year we’ve had. We are also looking forward to our Grade R Graduation and Grade 6 Graduation and warmly invite the parents of these grades to join us for these special events.
Additionally, our Prize-Giving Assembly is around the corner; please note that this morning is not open to parents, as it’s a time for our school community to celebrate the achievements of our students and teachers together.
Finally, we would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mauritius on a successful election held this week, and we celebrate Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam and his new cabinet. As they take on the responsibility of leadership, we continue to pray for wisdom, guidance, and integrity in their decisions as they lead our country forward.
Thank you all for making this week memorable and for being such an essential part of our school’s journey. May God continue to guide us as we prepare for the changes and blessings to come.

Winter Uniform Pre-orders for 2025
We are excited to share that you will soon be able to pre-order and purchase our new winter uniform - consisting of a jacket and tracksuit pants. You will also have the option to order only the jacket, or only the tracksuit pants.
Look out for an email with all details, prices and sizing guide. We will only order the sizes and quantities that are ordered and paid for in advance. No orders will be placed without full payment. We will place the order in the last week of November, and our supplier has committed to a January delivery.
We plan to do a second round of orders in the New Year, with expected delivery in March 2025.
Uniform Shop
Make sure you purchase uniforms ahead of next year’s rush! Our shop is open every Monday and Thursday, from 08:00 - 14:00. We will also be opening the shop for a few days in December and January before school starts - more details to follow. If you have any questions or need a price list, please email Ms Melanie at uniform@lighthouse.edu.mu.

Last day of School, 28 November
The Last day of school is 28 November and the day will end at 12.40. The End of Year Term Report will also be on Ed-Admin on that day.
Reminder: Support our Christmas Gift Boxes & Grocery Collection!
Our Christmas Gift Boxes and Grocery Collection Initiative aims to make a positive impact on our community and spread joy by providing essential food items and special holiday treats to families in need during the Christmas and New Year season. How can you get involved?
Christmas Gift Boxes: This is a wonderful opportunity to bring joy to kids in need! From Monday, 4 November, we will have a special tree set up in the Hub, with tags hanging from the branches, where you can select the names of children to whom you would like to donate Christmas gift boxes. Click here to see list of appropriate gift ideas and info on how to wrap the boxes! Boxes are to be returned by 25 November.
Share & Care Grocery Collection: Grocery bags will be collated in homerooms, not grades. Homeroom teachers will manage collection and track who brings what so that we can fill one grocery bag per homeroom and to ensure there's no duplications. Refer to this ‘Shopping list’, for tips on what to purchase! Grocery collection closes on 25 November.
You are welcome to donate or create extra bags on your own and deliver them to school. Together, we’ll aim for each class to gather enough items for at least one or two full grocery bags.
Health/Immunization Records
If you have not submitted your student’s medical information form and a copy of their vaccination record, please do so before the end of the school year. We are still missing a large number of vaccination records. In order for your child to start the 2025 school year, we must have both the vaccine record and the medical information form on file. No need to resubmit if you have already sent these in. Please email the school nurse at charlotte.crockett@lighthouse.edu.mu for any questions or drop the completed forms at the Hub.
