What our 2025 starters say about Westerings:
The following quotes come directly from parents of our newest starters (this September):
"Fantastic school and all the staff doing outstanding job! We wouldn't want our children anywhere else!"
I was blown away by the amazing open evening which far exceeded other school open evenings we attended. The warmth and enthusiasm of staff and pupils alike was infectious!
My eldest child has received nothing but the absolute best from Westerings both in terms of her education, healthcare needs, emotional support, wider activities and opportunities. We would not have considered anywhere else for my youngest child. Thank you!
I am very happy with the decision that Westerings was my first choice and thrilled my little boy was excepted and that he is enjoying it so much and learning in a way that is easier for him and fun
All the Westerings staff we have met so far have hugely exceeded our expectations! We have very much appreciated how accommodating all staff members have been... The staff members have been helpful, professional, kind and supportive. Thank you!
...it was the open day that fully swayed us. The look and feel of the school along with friendly teachers and a headteacher who is clearly passionate about the school.
We loved the passion and energy the Headteacher gave at the open evening. The passion for the school and the fact he attended the school himself. The feeling when we walked through the doors very much mirrored in the Ofsted report.
"The communication and organisation has been excellent."
I think giving the new starters a buddy is a great idea and really helps settle the children into their first year at school. My daughter still likes to see her buddy at lunch times and I believe it has given her a great confidence boost knowing on her first days at school she had someone to play with and show her round that she was familiar with.
We can see the commitment and hard work the staff put into their roles to make our child’s experience of school a happy one. And it’s more than appreciated.
**** left teary one afternoon (she was feeling unwell) Miss Doran followed up with a call afterwards to check up on her. In the first few days Mrs Shorten called home... she would assist with monitoring this. Things like this are so supportive and appreciated. Thank you, our school start experience has been great so far and I'm so pleased **** is enjoying it.
I couldn’t be happier both my daughters are at Westerings - our only other consideration was a private school and I’m so glad we made the decision to send them to Westerings instead. Both girls are so happy and the school opportunities are incredible.
Westerings was already our preferred choice, however opening evening really cemented our decision to have Westerings as our only choice of schools.
**** loved Westerings from the moment we stepped inside and so it was always going to be our number one choice.
The school really appealed to us for the following reasons: *Friendly welcoming staff *The headteacher personally welcoming us and our child at the door *Great test results and approach to learning. *We loved the outside spaces and the fun classrooms *We could really see our child enjoying their time here
"The school has excellent visual appeal in the grounds and internal spaces, but more than that is the feel that their students and staff are valued and respected in the school environment. It’s rare to see a school where it feels that they value respect rather than compliance."
We initially chose Clever Clogs when moving to the area, then when seeing Westerings in its beautiful setting next door… we were over the moon. The school has a wonderful reputation and a real family feel which we loved. The open evening sealed the deal, both the Head and the Reception teachers were so engaging and enthusiastic about the children and their education.
It felt like a calm and safe place for my child to be which as an anxious mum made me feel extremely happy knowing how well he would be treated at Westerings primary.
On the visit I was amazed by the schools theming and felt this would definitely help with the transition from preschool to school keeping the fun vibe, but along side my knowledge of the Sen department and education of school definitely a brilliant combination you really feel the kids are thought of and forefront of the schools mind.
The warm and exciting atmosphere created by the efforts put in to make the school a great place to learn with the decoration of the school and the passion and care from the teachers. Westerings offers a good balance of learning through the curriculum whilst making it fun and allowing the children to be creative.
Really amazing teachers, extremely happy... We felt the school best fitted our child, especially the outdoor space/environment.
"My daughter is really enjoying school and even asks to go at the weekend."
