Attendance Frequently Asked Questions
Email hstransportationchanges@libertyhill.txed.net before 10:00am the day your student needs to leave. Let us know the name of the student, no nicknames, time your student needs to leave and for what reason. We then produce a class pass and send to your student's classroom via a student runner. Please allow at least a 45-minute turnaround for this process, as it takes time to generate the class passes and get them delivered. We will not be able to call your student's classroom. Your student will then leave at the assigned time and meet you at your car. YOU DO NOT NEED TO COME INSIDE. If your student is checking out for a doctor or medical-related appointment, please make sure they return with a signed note from the doctor so the absence is excused and does not count towards their attendance. Please have them deliver that note to the front office immediately upon their return so we can record it and give them a pass to get back to class. If a student does not check back in through the front office, we will assume they were absent the remainder of the day and mark them accordingly.
We do not look at Early Release emails after 10:00pm. You will need to come inside with your ID and check out your student in person if you missed the 10:00pm email cutoff.
What do I do if my student is sick?
Email lhhs_attendance@libertyhill.txed.net first thing in the morning or the night before and let us know. We will update the student's attendance and teachers will be able to see they are out sick. If your student is ill for more than 3 school days, we will need a doctor's note to excuse additional absences.
Why did I get an attendance call when my student did all the paperwork before leaving for their college visit?
All college visit attendance will be updated when your student returns from their college visit with the official visit documentation from the college, or armed forces. In the meantime, disregard the automated attendance calls from the district.
When do hours have to be recovered?
Students must recover attendance hours during the school year which they are accrued. Students will not receive credit if they owe hours after the school year has ended.
How does my student recover hours?
Hours can be recovered via Lunch Detention in ISS room, Before or After School Tutorials and Saturday School (see front page of school website for dates). Please visit the attendance department for an make up hours log form.
