Physical Education
Welcome to Nobel Elementary Physical Education. The Physical Education team consists of two coaches, Lori Truslow and Amy DeMars. Our goal is to instill a love for physical activity in children that extends beyond their school years and will keep them active throughout their lives.
EXPECTATIONS
Working with children, we understand that injuries and illnesses occur. If your child has an injury please send an e-mail explaining the injury, the child's limitations, and how long the child is not allowed to participate. If your student will be out for longer than 2 days, a doctor's note is required. Participation in PE is necessary to ensure success for children and encourages them to be physically fit for life.
EXPECTED STANDARDS
1. Students will demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.
2. Students will demonstrate understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.
3. Student must participate regularly in physical activity.
4. Students must achieve and maintain a health-enhanced level of physical fitness.
5. Students must exhibit responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity setting.
6. Students will value physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction.
PE Activities and Units
Welcome
Our number one goal is to improve your child's fitness level and self-esteem. This year, your child will learn many different and specific skills used in sports and recreational activities. It is our goal to develop a healthy and active lifestyle for your child.
Dress for Success
For the safety of your child, they MUST wear athletic shoes during PE. Girls with long hair need to put their hair in a pony-tail during class. Girls, shorts must be worn under skirts.
PE Expectations
1. Be respectful to staff, classmates, school property, and yourself.
2. Follow ALL directions.
3. Keep your hands, feet, impolite words, and objects to yourself.
4. Be safe.
5. Come to PE ready to PLAY!
Grading Policies
We expect good sportsmanship and a good attitude every day. Every student will start off with an S. The first mark is considered a warning to the student. After the first warning each mark as listed below will result in a letter grade.
No gym shoes
Non- participation in class
Disrespectful to Peers or Teachers in class
