The Liberty Center Education Foundation supports special projects that serve the students of Liberty Center Schools.

EQUIPMENT for BROADCASTING CLASS

English teacher Jeff Ressler recently began a new Broadcasting course. The Liberty Center Education Foundation helped with equipment by purchasing 2 video cameras and 2 tripods. Mr. Ressler's class has conducted interviews, completed newscasts, and created commercials using this equipment.

STEM LAB DEVICES

The Liberty Center Education Foundation purchased 12 ipads and cases along with a MacBook Pro for K-12 student and staff use. As a result of the purchases, students and staff have been able to:

  • create and edit videos for special events and projects

  • create videos that show understanding of important events from history, themes from literature, as well as math and science concepts with video and editing apps that have been purchased.

  • use AR and VR apps so that they can see and manipulate objects like the parts of a cell, the solar system, and parts of the human body Virtually dissect an animal

  • Use robotic apps to learn coding concepts

  • Create sound and music for podcasts and videos

  • Use specialized applications

Wonder League Robotics Competition

A small group of sixth grade students are currently using the ipads to learn coding and have even entered an online coding competition. Wonder League Robotics Competition. The Wonder League Robotics Competition (WLRC) provides a way of entering a coding competition online. Students must complete a series of story-based challenges, submit their code and a video of the robots running the code. Our team is learning all about trouble-shooting and problem solving as we tweak and debug the code and accessories to meet the challenges.
