We have long recognized the benefits of e-learning, both as an educational tool and as a key, ever-changing, component of our students’ futures, and have embraced its many possibilities, especially as an effective method of communication and a provider of research material.
Beyond the classroom, we conduct weekly English Days, starting with an English Morning Assembly where students can hear English announcements, share and exchange ideas through speeches about personal experiences and topics of interest. Students are also given opportunities to share their opinions on current issues and books they have read. At lunch time, both teachers and students are encouraged to initiate and conduct communicative discussions through the popular ‘Speaking Bee’ activities. This is followed by an English Reading Period in which selected texts are explored and discussed in each class.
