2020-2021 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT GOALS
READING
SMART Goal: Annually, 100% of K-12 teachers and specialists will employ evidence-based strategies while increasing student motivation and engagement in literacy learning with fidelity.
Student Measure: Students will see an increase of assessment scores of AIR, EOC, STAR, MAP and Lexia. Students will be given beginning and end of the year surveys regarding motivation and engagement.
Adult Implementation: 100% of teachers will consistently implement research-based reading strategies in the areas of clear, purposeful lesson goals; vocabulary in context, individualized and intensive intervention; reading in the content area; teaching strategies and just not content; summarizing and note taking. Checkpoints and success will be measured via administrator walk throughs, curriculum audit and PD by outside source, staff surveys, TBT, BLT and DLT data and teacher evaluation.
MATH
SMART GOAL: By the 2022 report card, the Logan Hocking School District will score at or above the state average in 3rd-8th grade math and high school Algebra and Geometry.
Student Measure: AIR and EOC exam scores will be used. Student surveys as well as it relates to best practices used in the classroom.
Adult Implementation Measure: Teachers will employ best practices of inquiry-based learning, providing clear and consistent feedback and being flexible about how long it takes to learn. Data Used: test scores, teacher evaluations, TBT, BLT and DLT planning. MAP testing data review and changes/tweaks made in instruction throughout the year.
EQUITY ACCESS
SMART Goal: Between 2020 and 2023, the percentage of teachers and administrators who stay 5 years or more in high poverty schools will increase by 5% each year.
Student Measure: Student Surveys
Adult Implementation Measure: PD will be given to newly hired staff via surveys and discussions, measures can be taken to ensure best practices are followed in order to retain teachers and principals.
SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT GRANT GOALS
SMART GOAL 1: By implementing the evidence based best practices found within Every Classroom Every Day model, LHS will demonstrate significant progress towards meeting the federal Performance Index target in math for all subgroups.
SMART GOAL 2: By implementing the evidence based interventions found within the ECED model, LHS will demonstrate significant progress towards meeting the federal PI target in ELA for all subgroups.
SMART GOAL 3: By September 30, 2022, as a result of implementing professional learning strategies with fidelity, 100% of TBT minutes will reflect implementation of new learning standards through high impact instructional strategies, following Every Classroom Every Day protocols
SMART GOAL 4: By September 30, 2022, as a result of implementing professional learning strategies with fidelity, 80% of teachers will implement high impact learning strategies identified in iRRE engagement, alignment and rigor.
