The Logan-Hocking School District Business Advisory Council (LHSD BAC) is comprised of approximately 30+ diverse individuals who serve as community and business leaders in Hocking County. The council meets quarterly to discuss financial and educational issues facing the high-performing school district and geographic area to offer collaborative guidance to the LHSD Board of Education (BOE) to ensure the future well-being of all students, by achieving its vision.
VISION AND MISSION:
Vision: Sustainability of a qualified workforce prepared to contribute to the economic development and enhanced quality of life throughout Hocking County.
Mission: To provide a partnership between our schools and the business community to guide and advocate for LHSD educators to deliver relevant curriculum and hands-on learning experiences needed to teach students in-demand skill sets to prepare them academically and technically for college, military service and/or careers.
OBJECTIVES:
The LHSD BAC will serve as a continuing advisor group to the BOE and administrative team, by identifying industry trends, as well as ensuring students leave Logan High School with the essential skills to secure employment and be successful.
The LHSD BAC will provide insight and recommend policies and guidelines to the Board, via the Superintendent (at monthly BOE meetings), on initiatives that align with the mission, vision and action goals of the BAC and those outlined in the district’s Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP).
The LHSD BAC will foster cooperation among the district, businesses and the community to ensure education aligns with business needs. The BAC will provide insight to the local labor market, suggest opportunities for hands-on experiences with businesses, and offer guidance in preparing students for employment opportunities.
It is the goal of the LHSD BAC that the efforts of the business/school partnership will result in educational excellence being provided in a fiscally responsible manner.
