On April 22, 2020 William Henningsen; a frequent contributor to our Leica PSG articles is the manager of the ANAB ISO/IEC 17020 accredited Omaha Police Crime Lab in Nebraska and additionally is a Leica Geosystems Dealer with Collision and Crime Forensic Solutions. Mr. Henningsen presented an excellent informational webinar mixing administrative and technical issues on dealing with personal safety while forensic mapping scenes in COVID-19 environments. Mr. Henningsen has shared his 75 minute presentation for the benefit of First Responders.
There are three sections in the presentation:
Initial part is directly related to COVID 19 safety and first responders.
The middle presents scanning techniques to reduce exposure time in enclosed spaces.
The last segment provides a demonstration of uploading scan data from the field using a RTC360 scanner, Cyclone Field 360 application into a secure TruView Cloud Account. The scene data can be immediately accessed via mobile or computer browser.
The content was highly relevant for individual safety and provided an example of using new Leica technology to immediately share point cloud data with an entire investigative team preventing additional first responders from needing to be exposed to an area with potential residual airborne COVID-19 virus.
