Weddings and Events

The historic Locust Grove Estate is a not-for-profit museum and nature preserve located in the heart of the spectacular Hudson River Valley, just off Route 9 in Poughkeepsie New York.  All event rental fees support our educational programs.

The Estate is an unforgettable setting for events throughout the year, with buildings and gardens overlooking the Hudson River that combine the charm of the 19th century with the comfort of the 21st.

Our West Gallery, located in the Arts-&-Crafts-style Museum Pavilion, offers a unique setting for weddings and private parties.  Guests can enjoy cocktails on the covered terrace and shaded courtyard, then dine and dance in an elegant gallery with hardwood floors, a cathedral ceiling, and three walls of windows and French doors providing access to the estate’s 200 acres of gardens and grounds.

The West Gallery comfortably accommodates between 50 and 150 guests for dinner and dancing, while the adjacent Garden Lawn may also be rented for a ceremony overlooking the perennial gardens. For your convenience, the rental includes tables and chairs, a caterer’s kitchen, air conditioning, ample restroom facilities, and easy parking.

Locust Grove only schedules one party each evening (all events start after 5 pm), so you and your guests are assured a very private event.
