Locust Grove Visitor Center and Galleries


January - March:  Open Monday - Friday 10am - 5pm

April 1 - December 30:  Open 10am - 5pm every day 


Locust Grove Mansion 

Open for guided tours Friday - Monday from April - October

plus November 29 and 30, December weekends, and December 26-30.

Tours are at 10:15, 11:30, 12:45, 2pm, and 3:15


Locust Grove Gardens, Grounds, and Hiking Trails

Grounds closed until April

Open 10am - 5pm April 1 - December 30


Locust Grove Mansion Tours:  

The historic mansion is open for guided tours only.

Tour tickets can be purchased in person only, in the Museum Shop, on the day of your tour.  

Tours are $20/person, maximum group size 8 people. Please call 845-454-4500 to make a reservation for groups with more than 8 guests. We recommend at least 1 weeks' notice to book a group tour.

Private tours ($30/person) on weekdays are available by appointment only. We recommend at least 1 weeks' notice to book a private tour.

Locust Lawn Farm and Terwilliger House

Open for tours by appointment May - October.

Tickets are $30/person.

Please observe the following rules when visiting Locust Grove:

Check-in and out at the front desk.

Purchase a permit for family/wedding/event photos. (email info@lgny.org)

Dog walking is limited to members, purchase a membership here or at the front desk.

Please keep pets leashed and remove waste.

Do not collect plants, flowers, wildlife, or artifacts.

Picnic on designated benches only, remove all litter.

No alcoholic beverages.

No motorized vehicles or bicycles.

No hunting, shooting, or fishing.

No sunbathing or sports.

No fires or barbecues.

Use the grounds at your own risk, hike in pairs.


Accessibility:

Visitor Center and Grounds

Handicapped parking is on a level paved surface less than 100 feet from the Visitor Center. 

An accessible restroom is available at the Visitor Center.

A level, 300-foot gravel path connects the Visitor Center to the mansion. Level gravel paths wind through the gardens.

Mansion

There is no wheelchair access to the mansion. There are seven steps up to the front door, seventeen steps from the main floor to the second floor, and ten steps from the main floor to the ground floor.
