More than 2,000 pieces of clothing are included in the Young family collection - pieces shown on this page date from 1900 - 1910. Most of these pieces were worn by Annette Young, who donated them to the museum she founded to preserve Locust Grove, Locust Lawn, and her family's collections.
Dress, 1907. Pink silk and ecru lace. High collar of lace; large puffed sleeves which narrow to long, tight lace cuffs. Smocking around yoke and midriff; puffed out at bust. Band of embroidered silk surrounds lace collar. Bought in London at Liberty's Department Store and worn by Annette I. Young.

Ball Gown, 1907. Pale pink silk and ivory net lace. trimmed with metallic net, pink satin bows, and rhinestone buckles. Crocheted ball fringe and folds of fabric run vertically down front and back bodice. Skirt flares from high waistline, trimmed near hem with tiny pleating and lace inserts. Has a small train. Lined with satin and chiffon.
