Welcome to the DPM Cube website
Student Visits
The Cube follows a semi-flexible model. Students can visit the Cube independently during EXL time, WIN time, or in the morning from 8:05-8:25. 5th and 6th grade Language Arts teachers visit the Cube with their classes for lessons, book talks, and checkouts bi-monthly. All teachers may schedule time to visit or collaborate throughout the day.
Behavior Expectations
The Cube is a place for collaborating, creating, and cooperating. It's also a fun place to learn and discover. All students are expected to model CHAMPS behavior expectations in the Cube.
Checkout Policies
Students may check out up to 4 books at a time.
Checkout period is for 3 weeks. Students may renew the book twice (if needed).
Students may check out 1 current Caudill nominee at a time.
It is the responsibility of the student to maintain the safety and integrity of the book checked out, and to return it.
Overdue Books
The library does not collect overdue fines for late books.
Students will receive printed overdue notices 1 x a month in their LA classes. If they have questions or concerns, they can speak with the Librarian.
Students guardians will receive an email 1 x a month.
Lost & Damaged Books
If a student loses or damages a book beyond repair, they are expected to pay for a replacement. This transaction is handled by the Cube Librarian. Students may also provide a replacement copy if needed.
Students will receive an invoice with the cost of the replacement book, and a receipt when the cost is rectified.
A book is deemed beyond repair if it is no longer usable or shelf-ready. This could entail lost or torn out pages, water damage, or ripped covers. The librarian can repair minor damage such as loose pages or cover damage.
