Audition workshops: Wednesday, January 25 and Tuesday, Jan. 31st after school in the choir room.

These are optional workshops to quickly run through the audition music. You are welcome to attend one, both or none.

Mandatory Audition Form: Please complete the MANDATORY AUDITION FORM. Please submit no later than February 3rd.

  • Note, once auditions start on February 6, we will not look at any new submissions to the audition forms. Make sure if you need to make any changes you let us know verbally.

Audition Process:

The audition process will begin immediately after school in the RMA each day. Auditions will end each day when every student has had a chance to perform.

  • Monday, February 6: Dance and Acting Audition. People auditioning will be split into two groups. ½ the group will learn and perform an audition dance. ½ the group will perform a cold reading from the script. Then the groups will switch. You will need to stay to do both auditions.

  • Tuesday, February 7: Vocal Audition. Choose one song to sing. No matter what you sing, you will be considered for all parts. Only portions of each song will be performed. Click here for the audition song selections

  • Wednesday, February 8: Callbacks. Only those students on the call back list (posted Tuesday evening) are needed. Check the call back list for instructions on any material that needs to be picked up before the call back. Please note: Anyone called back should be prepared to sing other songs from the audition materials, including the call back-only selections.

Cast list: The cast list will be posted online the evening of February 8th on Schoology. You may be cast even if you are not called back.

Rehearsal Schedule: The show will rehearse mainly after school, beginning at 3:30 and going until 6:00 each day through spring break and as late as 6:30 during the month of April. During the week of the show rehearsals will run later. You will receive a schedule at the first meeting and are expected to attend all required rehearsals.

In order to produce a high-quality show, your attendance is extremely important at all rehearsals for which you are called. Please be sure to list all rehearsal conflicts on your audition form, so that we can work accordingly. Please remember, a production requires as much commitment as a sports team for the weeks we rehearse, so be sure the rehearsal schedule will work for you.

What if you are not cast in the show? Auditioning is challenging and we simply cannot cast everyone who auditions. If you are not cast, please know that this simply means that your talents could not be used for this particular production. Please audition for other shows. If you are not cast in this particular show, we encourage you to consider becoming involved in the production in other ways! There are many ways to be involved including tech crew and costumes and make-up. Please contact Mrs. MacBlane, Mr. Wanninger, or Ms. Toledano to find out about other ways you can be involved in the show!

Final thoughts:

We look forward to seeing you at auditions. Please e-mail Mr. Wanninger (jwanninger@lfschools.net) or Mrs. MacBlane (kmacblane@lfschools.net) with any questions.

Good luck!
