CLASSROOM CULTURE:

At Liberty Charter High School, we strongly believe in a growth mindset, that anybody can learn anything. There is scientific evidence that the brain grows and becomes stronger through struggling with learning and correcting your mistakes. That means in the mathematics classroom you will be asked to work hard on problems that seem difficult. We believe you can do it and will grow in the process.

THE 8 MATHEMATICAL PRACTICES:

  1. Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them

  2. Reason abstractly and quantitatively

  3. Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others

  4. Model with mathematics

  5. Use appropriate tools strategically

  6. Attend to precision

  7. Look for and make use of structure

8. Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning
