A warm welcome to the new school year! My name is Leslie Haas, and I am so excited to be your child’s fourth-grade teacher. This is my 9th year teaching fourth-grade at LFCS, and I look forward to partnering with you in this new adventure!
I was born and raised in San Diego alongside my big extended family. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Kevin, for 25 years and we have two sweet daughters, Mariah and Kayla. Our oldest daughter, Mariah, got married last year and welcomed the sweetest baby boy in April. This little boy has brought the greatest joy to our family, and we are all crazy about him! Kayla, our younger daughter, lives at home while taking college course online and working at a restraunt in La Jolla. As a family we enjoy traveling, hiking, going to the beach, and watching movies.
I attended San Diego State University for my undergraduate studies and teaching credential. I put a full time career on hold, while my girls were little, and spent 6 years as a substitute teacher in Cajon Valley Union School District before landing a full-time teaching position at Literacy First. Although I started my career later in life, those early years with my girls were precious and being a mom has always been my greatest joy!
I believe in providing your child with a safe learning environment, where they can take risks to reach their full academic and personal potential. Our class motto is to choose kindness, work hard, be brave, and dream big!
