Hi LFCS Families! This is my 5th year teaching at Literacy First, and my 1st in 9th grade. I previously worked as the Art teacher and Librarian at the Junior Academy, as a Teacher Consultant for Freedom Academy, and as a 4th grade teacher at the JA. I have been part of the LFCS community for MANY years, as a parent of my own students, a substitute teacher, and even a playground aide.
I believe in HAVING FUN! I love to be silly and to present information in ways that are meaningful and memorable. It is my goal to help EVERY child reach his or her potential through love and encouragement while incorporating laughter all along the way. Together we will build a community where it is safe to take risks, to be brave, to learn through mistakes, and where we lift one another up.
I have lived in El Cajon for most of my life. I attended Anza Elementary School and Emerald Junior High, right here in our town! I graduated from West Hills High School, and it was there that I met my husband, Sean. We celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary over the summer! I earned my BA in English from San Diego State University in 2003. As an LFCS parent, I discovered a love for teaching. The mission, vision, and values of this school convinced me to go back to school and become a teacher. I earned my multiple subject credential and Master's degree in Education from National University in 2019.
My greatest joy in life is my family. I have an 18 year old daughter, Paige who graduated from LCHS last year, and a 16 year old son, Declan who is a junior this year.. Our family LOVES to travel, have adventures together, watch movies, play board games, and try new restaurants.
