About Me

Hi all!  I am excited to be joining the Literacy First team this year.  I have previous experience teaching first grade for three years and sixth grade for two years.  I think that fourth grade will be the perfect balance of my previous grades taught.   I found my passion for teaching when I taught swim lessons in the summers growing up.

In the curriculum this year, I am most looking forward to teaching California History and adventuring toward the historical Gold Rush.

The past 6 summers, I have volunteered with a group called Poway Backpackers.  I have taken a group of middle schoolers backpacking from Mammoth to Yosemite over a 7 day/70 mile trip where they carry everything they need on their backs.  I have found joy in immersing myself in nature and seeing the effect that it has on the students.

I've grown up with a love of baseball and the Padres.  I have coached JV Baseball at Escondido Charter High School for the past two seasons.
