About me
I'm entering my 14th year in the teaching profession, with the last two years dedicated to serving at Literacy First Charter Schools. My educational journey began at Berkeley, where I earned my B.A. in History, and continued at the University of Chicago, where I achieved my M.A. in Social Science. My teaching certification (PGCE) was obtained through the University of Buckingham, allowing me to extend my qualifications to the United Kingdom. While originally from San Diego, I bring a rich heritage as my parents hail from Mexico. Fluent in both English and Spanish, I'm currently immersed in mastering a third language, German. When not in the classroom, you might spot me on the soccer field, exploring new culinary experiences, or enjoying leisurely walks with my wife and canine companion.
With an unbridled enthusiasm for history and a strong dedication to education, I'm committed to imparting these passions to my students. My aspiration is to elevate my teaching craft to the level of a master educator, and I eagerly look forward to the path ahead.
