Week 4- Mixtures
Hello boys and girls! We celebrate Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22nd. Earth Day is an annual event that we celebrate around the world to demonstrate support for environment protection. This is an event where you can celebrate with your family!
Here is a two part video you can watch from Mystery Science. The first part of the video is about ways scientist figure out how old our Earth is. Can you take a guess? The second part of the video is one of Mystery Doug's Bonus videos. It show different ways we can recycle plastic. They show really awesome things they created out of recycled plastic bottles! Maybe you can try a few of these ideas or make your own. Try making a boat, or your own sculpture. Be and inventor and use different types of plastic like straws or even plastic bags. You could even make a piggy bank or even make a mother's day gift for your mom. If your feeling really creative, how about having an Eco Fashion Show with your family. Take a look at the PBS video for some great ideas. Have fun with them. Share your awesome creations with me via my email address! Can't wait to see them! Have Fun!
Mother's Day gift idea: Use a plastic container. Make sure you wash it out. Ask someone to help you cut out the bottom part and turn it upside down. Give it your own creative design. Then add some dirt with seeds or a plant. Show us your recycle planter you have created. Mother's Day is on May 10th, and what an awesome gift this would be for your mom! Have fun!
