Meet the Counselor

Adriana Arredondo

10th grade, Alpha A-L

Adriana Arredondo serves the students at Los Fresnos High School as a school counselor. She has been part of the Los Fresnos CISD family since 2022.

 

During her career in public education that began in 2017, she has served as an English teacher and school counselor.

 

Arredondo received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Texas State University and her Master of  Science in Professional School Counseling degree from Angelo State University.

Marizel Briones   

10th grade, Alpha M-Z

Marizel Briones serves the students at Los Fresnos United as a school counselor. She has been part of the Los Fresnos CISD family since 2014.

 

During her career  in public education that began in 2003, she has served as a 2nd grade teacher, Pre-K teacher and school counselor.


Briones received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Brownsville and her Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling degree from the University of Texas at Brownsville.

Charmaine Thomae

9th Grade, Alpha A-L

Charmaine Thomae serves the students at Los Fresnos United as a school counselor. She has been part of the Los Fresnos CISD family since 2017.

 

During her career in public education that began in 2017, she has served as a College Adjunct Instructor, High School Teacher, and Extemporaneous UIL Coach. 


Thomae received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Texas-Pan American, her Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and her Master of Science in School Counseling degree from Walden University.

Parts of Our Job

As high school counselors, we address the academic, social emotional, and college & career needs of all students. These needs are met through a delivery system of Individual Student Planning, Responsive Services, Classroom Guidance, and System Support. We assist students with the following support:
