For most schools, yes. The NACAC Fee waiver waives the application fees for Colleges. The 3 schools that do not accept our fee waivers are: Texas State University, Texas Tech University and The University of Texas-San Antonio (UTSA).
If applying to the 3 schools listed above, the application fee may be waived IF a student has applied for FAFSA and qualifies for a Pell grant AND submits the SAR (Student Aid Report) from the Financial Aid website (fafsa.gov) through the institutions portal system.
If a student is not Pell Grant eligible for the 3 schools listed above, then the student will have to pay the application fee out of pocket.
Yes. The universities need to be able to determine whether or not students are ready to take college courses prior to attending. Passing scores will notify if the student is College Ready.
If students took dual enrollment courses through Texas Southmost College they will need to fill out a request form and email it to the address listed on the top of the form. If you took courses through Lamar University, such as Chemistry, you will also need to fill out a request form and email it to the address listed at the bottom of the page. If you took dual enrollment courses through UTPB you will need to contact the school directly.
Students can apply for scholarships at the schools of their interest. These would be called institutional scholarships and can be found on each university’s website. There are also a numerous amount of outside organizational scholarships available. You can visit our website or search on Google.
The next step upon receiving acceptance into the University you applied to is to activate your student account with the institution if you have not already done so. This involves obtaining a student ID number, student email address, password and portal system with the school.
Next, you will want to verify that you are not pending any documents. Please contact the school and let the College Center know if we need to submit anything on student’s behalf. Some examples include: high school and/or college transcript, fee waivers, TSI scores, SAT scores, and proof of Bacterial meningitis.
The next steps you will need to take involve registering and attending new student orientation, meeting with an academic advisor, and registering for classes. This varies depending on the university so please contact each school for more information.
