Hello! My name is Cristina A. Garcia, and I am the proud School Counselor at Laureles Elementary.  I have a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (EC-4th Bilingual Specialist) from the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College and a Master of Science in Professional School Counseling from Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX. I have 13 years of experience in education, ranging from a substitute teacher, a 4th-grade teacher, and a School Counselor. I look forward to working with all students, staff, and family members this school year!

Hello! My name is Denisse Castillo, and I am the new School Co-Counselor at Laureles Elementary. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies EC-6 Bilingual from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. I also received my Master's degree in School Counseling from UTRGV. With 14 years of experience in education, I began as a substitute teacher, then worked as a reading interventionist, a paraprofessional, and a teacher before becoming a School Counselor. I am excited about the opportunity to work with all students, staff, and families this school year.
