I was born and raised in New York State. I went to Tusculum College in East Tennessee where I received my BA in elementary education. I continued on at George Peabody College for Teachers in Nashville to earn my MS in Early Childhood Education.

I became a believer, a follower of Christ, in my early twenties while attending college in Nashville. I have actively pursued developing and growing in my relationship with the Lord since that time.
