Class Overview
Welcome to a year of discovery, growth, and purpose! In our 5th grade classroom, we’ll dive into ELA, History, and Bible—but more than that, we’ll learn to think deeply, communicate clearly, and see the world through the lens of God’s truth.
English Language Arts (ELA): In ELA, we’ll explore powerful stories, sharpen our reading and writing skills, and grow as effective communicators. We’ll learn to think critically about what we read, always measuring ideas against God’s Word. Through literature and writing, students will be challenged to seek truth, show compassion, and use their voices for good.
History: Our history lessons will connect the past to God’s greater story. As we study people, events, and cultures, we’ll practice evaluating ideas and decisions through a biblical worldview—recognizing God’s sovereignty in history and learning how to live wisely in our own time.
Bible: In Bible, we’ll dive into Scripture, build our understanding of who God is, and grow in our walk with Christ. Students will be encouraged not only to recall biblical truth but to explain, evaluate, and apply it—shaping a faith that is personal, courageous, and rooted in God’s Word.
Throughout each subject, we’ll focus on Biblical Worldview Shaping—training students to see all of life through God’s truth, to love others well, and to live on mission. My prayer is that this year will help your child grow as a confident, Christ-centered thinker who shines for Him in every area of life.
