Parent Note

Dear 5th Grade Families,

It’s time to begin putting together our class auction basket! If you’re new to this tradition, the auction baskets are one of the major fundraisers that support the 8th graders’ Washington, D.C., trip. Each grade creates a themed basket, which is then auctioned off during the Talent Show. This year, both 5th-grade classes (A & B) will be contributing to a basket with the theme: “Making Memories.”

This basket will be filled with items and experiences that encourage families to spend meaningful time together and create lasting memories. The room parents are currently working to secure donations such as family passes, tickets, and gift cards to local attractions.

To help complete our “Making Memories” basket, we are asking for contributions. Some great ideas include:

•  Family Game Night: Board games, card games, puzzles, trivia games

•  Movie Night: Popcorn, candy boxes, cozy blankets, movie gift cards

•  Baking & Crafting Together: Baking mixes, decorating kits, art supplies, craft kits

•  Family Night Out: Restaurant, fast food, or movie theater gift cards

Monetary donations are also welcome if you prefer, and we will use those funds to purchase items for the basket. You can Venmo Meghan @https://venmo.com/u/toddhall1981 or send in money to Mrs. Laura. 

Additionally, if you have any connections that could help us secure passes, tickets, or experience-based donations, please let us know. We already have a family skate night package for four that includes pizza and drinks, and we are awaiting responses from several other venues (such as Holiday World, Louisville Slugger, Top Golf, Kart Kountry, local museums, etc.).

Our goal is to create a fun, engaging basket that truly celebrates family time and making memories together. Thank you so much for your support in helping us make this auction item a success!

If you have donations, questions, or ideas, please feel free to contact us. The last day to donate is Friday, Dec 5th, so we can get the basket together and turn it in on time.
