Matilda Wormwood is a precocious young girl with a sharp intellect and a love for books, but her parents see her as a nuisance and prefer watching TV to nurturing her talents. At school, Matilda's gifts are recognized by the kind-hearted Miss Honey, but the fearsome headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, rules the students with an iron fist. Faced with challenges at home and school, Matilda discovers she has an extraordinary power that could turn the tide in her favor. With bravery and a dash of magic, she sets out to change her destiny—and inspire those around her to do the same.
