Director’s Note

Augusta and Noble is a unique bilingual piece written by Carlos Murillo in 2013 about the lived experience of an immigrant family while working with Adventure Stage Chicago which is housed at The Chicago Settlement House located at that very same corner.  Unfortunately over a decade later the story and it's themes are still as relevant as ever.  The award winning Teatro leyden program which will proudly bring to life this is also unique. This one of a kind theatre program in its 11th year allows students who rarely find themselves in the spotlight an opportunity to be on stage. However Teatro Leyden is a program that is about much more than theatre. We attempt in all we do to celebrate community, culture and life experiences in every production . This production of Augusta and Noble has been no different. Blending the worlds between reality and dreams in this intimate black box setting brought to life by Ms. Teslen Sadowski along with her talented technicians, illuminated by Mr. Gabriel Gorsline and the real as well as wild costumes of Ms Olivia Rufatto as our cast will come face to face with each other and the audience as we all journey to Augusta and Noble.
