Interested in Fencing? Of course you are!

We welcome fencers with all levels of experience, or with no experience at all.

Some information about the club:

• Meetings will be each Wednesday, after school, from 3:45-5:00 p.m.

• Dues are $30 for the year. This money goes to purchasing, repairing, and replacing club equipment.

• Garb: SHHS will provide club jackets, masks, gloves and weapons. Participants MUST WEAR athletic footwear and athletic pants of some kind—no leg skin exposed. If you do not have proper athletic footwear and athletic pants of some kind, you will not participate that day—no exceptions. If you would prefer, you can purchase your own gear and bring it to club meetings.

• Safety: Participants who do not follow the procedures and rules designed to ensure the safety of themselves and others will not be allowed to participate in the club, and there will be no refund of dues.

Club meetings are one day a week after school, on Wednesdays from 3:45-5:00 p.m.

A typical club meeting:

• 3:45-4:00—get appropriately dressed, pick up mask and glove, put on jacket, assemble in gym.

• Warmup and stretches—10 minutes

• Footwork—10 minutes

• Bladework instruction and drills—15 minutes

• Limited fencing—10 minutes

• Free fencing and individual lessons—15 minutes

• Carefully hang jackets and put away masks, gloves, etc.
