Welcome to our class! My name is Sharidan Parnell and I am your child's second grade teacher! This is my ninth year at Harbison West. I graduated from the University of South Carolina in May of 2017 with a degree in Early Childhood Education. I also received my M.Ed. in May of 2020 from USC. I guess you could say that I love learning! I am excited to be joining a community of wonderful educators here at HWES!  In my spare time, I enjoy getting lost in a good book, hiking at all of the SC state parks, working out, being a dog mom to 3 pittie gals, Teddi, Ginger and Sachia, and spending time with family and friends. I also love traveling and cruising to new locations! My favorite location was Mahogany Bay, Honduras because of the pretty blue water and I was able to hold a cute baby sloth! I am a lover of learning and growing learners. We will have a (mostly) paperless classroom this year, but I help you and our students out every step of the way. Please let me know if there is anything specific that I can do to enhance your child's experience this year. Also, let me know if your child is involved in anything outside of school. I would love to come and support! I am excited that your learner will be in our class and we will have a wonderful year!
