Virtual SC

Virtual SC courses are totally online, self-paced, and are accepted for credit at your home school. Classes are offered during the following semesters: Year-Long, Fall, Fall Fast-Track, Spring, Spring Fast-Track, and Summer. Not all classes are offered during all semesters. Here are some pointers to follow for success in these classes:

1) register using a personal email address: much communication is sent via email. Using your student email address will mean these emails get blocked.

2) stay up-to-date: each course has a pacing guide accessible via the Virtual SC website. Instructors also send routine communication about which assignments you should be working on and due dates. Feeling overwhelmed is likely if you fall behind schedule.

3) set & stick to a schedule: create a routine where you devote time each week to your coursework. Write it out. Plan for it. Don't allow this time to be taken and used elsewhere. Stick to this plan and you likely will be able to work ahead of schedule.

4) check your email: this is your instructor's main line of communication with you. Not tending to your email means you risk missing critical information and updates.

5) communicate: with your instructor as needed. They will provide you with their contact information and availability. Use them as needed, be your own advocate.

6) final exams are scheduled through your homeschool: final exam information will be emailed as the end of your course approaches. You'll need to sign up for a time to take your exam which best works with your schedule.
