Mr. Schnabel
Room B71 (Science Lab)
Hello! I am truly blessed to be working at Dutch Fork Elementary School along with so many other dedicated staff members. My passion is to help create our next generation of stewards of our planet.
I grew up on a farm learning how to manage and care for the land growing trees, row crops and raising hogs. I graduated from Central Carolina Technical College with a degree in natural resources, Miami University with a degree in elementary education, and finally Clemson University with a degree in parks & protected area management.
I have 24 years of teaching experience as a park ranger, a science teacher at Pelion Middle, White Knoll High, and Deerfield Elementary, with the last 10 years working as the environmental education coordinator for the SC Forestry Commission.
My wife of 24 years is Celeste and our three kids are Trevor (Clemson Univ), Eliza (College of Charleston) and Kate (River Bluff HS). I enjoy doing anything outdoors, especially kayaking, biking, running, and backpacking.
I hope to introduce youth to the outdoors and help build their care for and tie to our natural world.
