Hi!  My name is Amy Collins and I am so excited to be working with your family this year. This is my 36th year of teaching. I earned a degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Newberry College and a Master's degree in Language and Literacy from USC. I am also National Board certified in Early Literacy.  I have taught Kindergarten - 5th grade. 

I have 2 children, BJ and Caroline. BJ is an electrical engineer and lives in Greenville with his wife Kayla and their fur babies Hadley, Jess, and Petra.  Caroline is a first grade teacher in Newberry. She and her husband Lane are the proud parents of a Great Dane, Luna. Each couple made me a "Honey" by giving me a granddaughter in the past year. Collins and Emma are now the apples of my eye and bring me joy daily.  I have my own sweet dog named Roxie. She is  a bundle of energy and kisses.

In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family, go to the lake, read, and spend time outside. I love to travel and go on adventures. 

We will face challenges together this year. I believe in you and that when you truly try you can accomplish more than you ever thought you could. I can’t wait to watch this group of 1st graders discover, develop and nurture their interests. Please let let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  I know we will have a great year together!
