Years Teaching at SOES: 7

Total Years Teaching: 7

My name is Emily Langston and I am so excited to be a part of the first grade team again this year. This will be my seventh year teaching at SOEGM and my fourth year in first grade. I was honored to be named the 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year for Seven Oaks Elementary.

I was born in Buffalo, NY (GO BILLS! ❤️💙) but have lived in South Carolina for over half my life. I have a daughter named Lily who will turn seven in November. This is my seventh year as a classroom teacher but I have worked in District 5 for many years. I graduated from Coastal Carolina University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching football on Sundays, thrifting, reading and traveling.

Becoming a teacher has been a lifelong goal for me & I am so excited to be working with YOUR student this year. Teaching and working with young children is my passion. I have an enthusiasm for math and I enjoy watching students grow as mathematicians! Reading is extremely important during first grade and I love to watch students' vocabulary grow throughout the year.

I am thankful to have my APEC intern, Caroline Patrick, with me throughout this school year.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions and we will do our best to assist you.
