Eighth Grade Science
Class overview
Welcome to my 8th grade science website. This website contains the content found within the five units you will be learning about this year. We will be using this website in conjunction with Google Classroom. I will share all assignments and their due date in Google Classroom. Additional course content including videos, tutorials, and extra resources to support learning will be on this Google Site.
We will begin this year studying lab safety, lab tools, the scientific method, and process skills. To begin click on the link above titled "Scientific Inquiry." Under each tab you will find specific resources that will help you understand the content.. Each tab contains videos, diagrams, and readings to help reinforce your learning from the classroom.
I am so excited for this new school year. We are going to have an awesome year!

All About Me
Hello, my name is Mrs. Thompson and I have been teaching middle level science for 10 years. My husband Jason and I have been married for 26 years and we have four children; Hannah, Jacob, Emma, and Heidi. Being a mother and a teacher is what brings me the most joy in my life.
I was raised in Washington state but have lived in South Carolina for 25 years. I graduated from BYU, in Provo Utah, with a BS in conservation biology. I received my M. ED. in Instructional Technology from Coastal Carolina University. In my free time I enjoy going to the beach, reading, watching football, spending time with my family, and being a swim mom.
