My name is Julie Klemz. I am a graduate of Monroe County Community College (Associate's Degree 1991), Michigan State University (Bachelor's Degree 1993), and Eastern Michigan (Master's Degree 1997). My Master's Degree is in Special Needs. I earned by Masters Plus 30 Teacher Classification in 2024. I received my ZS (Early Childhood) Endorsement in 2020, my R2S Literacy Endorsement in 2022, my Poverty Endorsement in 2023, and my Talented and Gifted Endorsement in 2024.  This is my thirty-third year of teaching, and my fifth year at Harbison West Elementary. I love being a part of the Harbison West family of heroes! My family moved to South Carolina from Michigan in the summer of 2021. We are so excited to be living in the South with you all! My husband, Kent and I are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Darby, age 23 and Lexi, age 21.  Darby graduated from the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!)in May of 2024 and now is an assistant planner for Belk at their corporate headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. Lexi is a Senior at the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!) in the College of Hospitality, Retail, & Sport Management. We have a new family dog, Taffy, who is 7 months old. I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising, traveling, baking, cooking, shopping, and of course teaching children!
