Mrs. Brinkman's

Virtual Science!

** Our focus will be to understand more about the processes that occur on Earth, as well as Earth's place in the universe. We will discover how physics can be used to help explain and describe not only the Earth's processes, but also the other objects located in our solar system, galaxy, and universe as well.

If the students are complaining that Meet is making their "Chromebook" slow, we are seeing that the issue is not actually the Chromebook but the home internet speed instead. It is recommended to reboot the home modem and router (not in the middle of class, but during lunch or in the evening). You could try calling your internet provider to see if the equipment is running at the intended speed (most companies can test this remotely). Students can also check the Gopher Buddy on their Chromebooks to see if there is an update that needs to be completed.

  • Students should be asking parents to electronically sign the class Syllabus and Lab Safety Agreement. Parents if you have not done so yet, please see the top bar, under more, then down to Forms to Sign. Be sure to ask your child which block they are in!

  • Students will take the District Lab Safety Quiz during class time Wednesday Sept., 16. Their Lab Safety Agreement is the study guide.

  • We will begin our topic covering Inquiry and Measurement Thursday, Sept., 17.

  • Students will need the district issued workbook/textbook for Science 8. Please make arrangements with your child's home school to pick that up in the up the week of Sept. 14-18.
