We are a classroom family of little learners. Each day is filled with new and exciting learning that has each little mind engaged to become readers, writers and mathematicians.
About Mrs. May
This will be my 21st year of teaching. I have a Bachelors Degree with dual certification in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from the University of Delaware as well as 18 Master college credits towards educational technology. I am proud to have achieved my National Board Teaching Certification in 2025. This is my 8th year in South Carolina teaching Kindergarten and First grade students at CES. Before moving to South Carolina, I taught for 13 years in Orlando Florida. During that time, I was a Pre-K teacher for 2 years and Kindergarten teacher for 11 years in the elementary setting. During my years in Orlando, I also taught continuing education classes at night at Orlando Tech. My adult education courses were tailored towards students who wished to work in a childcare setting to help them learn early childhood standards, behavioral education, and theories in Early Childhood Education. I have also presented at Early Childhood conferences on behavior management and literacy concepts.
Outside of the classroom I am a wife to another teacher and a mother to three boys (9th, 7th, and 3rd graders). When I am not in the classroom, I will most definitely be found on a soccer field, Taekwondo studio or swimming stadium as my boys are very active in sports. Teaching is both my joy and passion. I am so excited to share my love of teaching with the Chapin community. It matters that my students are in an environment in which they are loved and looked at as individual learners. My job is to help them reach their highest potential as a well-rounded student that is engaged in learning as well as being a wonderful person in our Chapin community. I am looking forward to a great year with a new group of sweet Kindergarten kiddos!
About Mrs. Wolfe
I am starting my fifth year as a kindergarten assistant. I have a Bachelors degree in Sociology with a minor in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina. Before being hired at CES I was a substitute in District 5 for two years. I decided to start substituting once my youngest entered kindergarten. I was home for 11 years raising my two children. Prior to having children, I was the director of the 5th circuit Solicitor’s office Pre-Trial Intervention program for Kershaw County. In that position I oversaw the adult and juvenile programs.
When I’m not in the classroom loving your babies I’m at home loving mine! My husband and I have a boy(9th grade) and girl(5th grade). My son plays football and wrestles for Chapin High and my daughter is on a competitive dance team, therefore, we are quite the busy family. As a parent who sends her children into complete stranger’s classrooms each year one of my biggest hopes is for teachers that will love them as their very own. I can assure you that when your little one becomes a Mountain Mover they will not only receive an excellent education, but they will be loved as our very own.
