All course information for students is provided through Google Classroom. Teachers will add students to their Google Classroom.
Parents/guardians cannot join Google Classrooms. However, they may receive daily or weekly summaries from Google Classroom. Contact any teacher to have your email enrolled for these summaries. For more information, see Google's Help article on Classroom Guardian Summaries.
All Students are required to practice 120 minutes per week and record their practice record. Parents must sign practice record each week. This is graded every Monday morning.
Each student is required to have their materials at their seat, for class EVERY DAY. These materials are:
Orchestra binder with book and any sheet music
Pencil
Rosin
Shoulder Rest (Violins and Violas) - THIS IS MANDIATORY
Rock Stop (Cellos & Bass)
Cleaning Cloth
Extra set of strings (in case you have a string break in class)
Orchestra students are required to maintain short finger nails. It is impossible to play a stringed instrument with long or salon nails.
Private orchestra lessons are strongly encouraged. These lessons will help supercharge your skills and take your music making to the next level. Please reach out to Mr. Miller if you are interested in private lessons.
Please read the orchestra handbook carefully for a full, detailed explication for all common questions/concerns.
