Hello! Hola! Assalamu Aleykum!
I am overjoyed to be teaching 1st grade super stars at Seven Oaks Elementary Global Magnet. My philosophy is educating the whole child through the arts, science and through a student-centered approach where students drive their learning. I knew teaching was my passion since the fourth grade. I began teaching art at a summer art camp at DFES and as the oldest child of the family, I was the nurturer of the bunch.
I have taught fourth and fifth grade self-contained and departmentalized science and social studies in St. Paul Minnesota for 7 years. I returned to the District I grew up in 2020. I went to DFES, DFMS and DFHS and I played clarinet in the Silver Spirit Marching band.
I graduated from the University of Minnesota Twin cities with a degree in Psychology and Neuroscience. In 2013, I decided to pursue a Master's degree in Elementary Education at Hamline University. I have two beautiful children and I enjoy traveling to Morocco, my second home. I also enjoy cooking different foods from around the world.
I speak conversational Spanish and Arabic.
