My name is Kirsten Gorny, and this is my seventh year teaching at HECES. I graduated from the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I also have earned my Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning with a specialization in Instructional Coaching from Clemson University (Go Gamecocks!). I believe in lifelong learning and that knowing the hearts of children personally and academically fosters authenticity in relationships and instruction.
Irmo is my hometown, and I am a graduate of Dutch Fork High School. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy traveling with my husband Todd, being in nature, exercising, and spending time with family and friends. We have a dog named Wesley, and he loves going on adventures with us. I have played soccer all my life and still enjoy playing for fun!
Teaching is my passion, and I look forward to a fantastic year of leading and learning!
