As a way of introduction, I would like to tell you a little about myself. After transferring from Charleston County School District, I returned to the Irmo area to teach at Harbison West Elementary. In Fall of 2019, I transferred to Chapin Intermediate. This year I am excited to start a new adventure with the Lake Murray Elementary Crew!
On a personal note, I enjoy coffee, reading, hiking, running, traveling, and church activities. I am close to and enjoy spending free time with my family. My mother is a retired teacher, and my sister is also a math teacher at Clover Middle School. My sister and her husband have a son the same age as my son, and the two boys are best friends! I have two older brothers, one, currently, lives in Oregon. My other one has a son and daughter, both whom I love to pieces, and am so excited they live close by in Chapin! I have lived in the Irmo/Chapin area since 1988 and grew up in the District Five School system. After graduating from Dutch Fork High School, I attended Erskine College and graduated with a BS in Elementary Education. I married my wonderful husband, David Stevens, September 20th, 2014! In January of 2020 we welcomed our son Jensen into the family! Jensen keeps us busy and also enjoys all the outdoor activities!
This year is going to be an exciting year where students develop their natural thinking skills as we dig deeper into the state-adopted math and science standards together.
