DANCE EDUCATION at CHAPIN MIDDLE SCHOOL
Chapin Dance Education is one united dance department with students from both Chapin Middle and Chapin High School. The instructional focus is to broadly educate all students in all facets of dance including knowledge of dance styles and techniques, creation and composition, performance, as well as responding to a variety of different dances styles and cultures.
Chapin Middle School offers Dance classes every semester, making it accessible to all students who are interested! Chapin dance courses introduce students to dance techniques, choreography, anatomy, and history. Students should expect to be challenged physically, mentally, and artistically as they will begin to learn how to perform, analyze, critique, and create original dance works. Chapin dance students have performed at the South Carolina State Fair, taken master class field trip opportunities to the Elite Ballroom Dance Academy, and have virtual productions featured on YouTube and Instagram.
