I was born and raised in a small town in South Carolina called Heath Springs (in the southern part of Lancaster County). I moved to Columbia when I attended the University of South Carolina, where I met my husband Patrick Funk. We have been married for fourteen years, and have two sons, Carver and Beckett. My husband is also teacher, teaching English at River Bluff High School.
