My name is Gloria Hardie, and I am a special education teacher at Dutch Fork Elementary. In the field of education, I have degrees in special education K-12, early childhood, and elementary education from Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.
Throughout my career, I have taught in various settings ranging from postsecondary to preschool. Outside the traditional classroom, I have been an AmeriCorps volunteer, behaviorist, counselor, therapist, recreational leader, camp director, youth leader, and respite care provider for children and adults of multiple ability levels and ages. These experiences have given me the tools and training to help children discover the joy of learning while addressing individual skills and needs. As an educator, I aim to give children the tools they need to create their best future.
Daily Schedule:
I teach students in multiple grades who require specialized academic and social instruction. The students in my class have individual schedules based on the service minutes located on their IEP.

My name is Heather Hopwood, and I’m excited to join Dutch Fork as a Special Education Assistant. I bring over 15 years of experience in behavioral health rehabilitation, with extensive knowledge in behavior management. For the past six years, I’ve worked with children with disabilities in grades Pre-K through 5th as an autistic support aide and Registered Behavioral Technician. I have a deep passion for supporting this population and helping students thrive both academically and emotionally.

Hello everyone! My name is Yasira Ammons. I am so excited to be joining the Dutch Fork Elementary team. I have been working as a teacher assistant since 2021. I am bilingual and can speak English and Spanish. I started working in SPED in 2024. I love going to parks with my dog Luna in my free time. I enjoy listening to music and watching dramas. I can't wait to get to know our students and have a great year!
